예술, 디자인, 기술 등 공공 예술에 필요한 ‘동시대적’ 조화와 협업을 실천하는 창작자들의 모임. 우리는 삶에 가치 있는 마음을 전달하는 예술 활동을 하고자 다양한 공공의 현장과 함께하고 있다. 협업이 다른 협업을 이끄는 평등하고 열린 구조의 창작 생태계를 지향하며, 공공에 관계된 작은 세계부터 전체까지 여러 관계를 섬세하게 배려하여, 예술이 주도하는 공통의 공감과 교감의 가능성을 시도한다.
TEAM COWORK는 일상적인 공공 공간을 이용하는 사람과 장소의 통·공시적 생태 환경을 복합적으로 고려하여 사람과 환경 모두에게 유익한 공공성을 기반으로 한 공공의 영역을 만든다. 공공 미술의 장소성에 대한 인문학적 해석과 커뮤니티 아트의 관계 중심의 실천적 예술 활동 그리고 디자인적 관점의 기능성, 편리성과 범용성 등이 복합적으로 고려되어 미술적·디자인적인 한계를 넘어 새로운 장르의 ‘Public Space Art’를 실현하고자 한다.
마이-매크로 성남
Micro Macro Seongnam
성남 광주 대단지라는 성남의 역사적 사건과 지역 거주 예술가들의 관찰력, 상상력으로 그려낸 성남의 현재-미래의 모습으로 지역 고유의 문화풍토 구축과 역사, 정서, 문화를 반영한 특색있는 작품으로 공간을 구성했다. 성남광주 대단지의 주요한 지점은 당시대의 아카이브 사진에 담긴 황무지의 질척이고 갈라진 땅을 배경으로 하고 있다. 항쟁의 기록물 중 주요 장면들은 재편집 가공하여 거친 땅의 굴곡을 걷는 감각을 연출한다. 바닥을 이루는 조명 디자인은 참여 작가 40명의 다채로운 작품들이 연결성와 기준을 갖고 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 했다. 끝없이 펼쳐졌던 역사의 변동에 다채로운 상상력이 겹쳐져 성남의 과거-현재-미래의 이미지 전체를 관통하는 탄천의 긴 물줄기가 된다.
회현천년 이웃나무
Hoehyeon, 1000, Neighbor, Tree
Millennial Neighbor Trees of Hoehyeon is a public art project that lets us reflect on the current life of ours and check on our ecological awareness and mindset for the future through the “ginkgo trees” in Hoehyeon-dong, which have been standing by the neighborhood over the age of 523 years. The project empathizes with the reality facing urban ancient trees and its local implication and proposes a new relationship whereby all can live in harmony through neighborship with the ancient trees. We hope this place can be a venue where the concerns and values of the town are shared and the trees and its residents look to each other as one community as well as a site where the legend of the ginkgo trees outlives the millennium to come.
회현천년 이웃나무 프로젝트는 523년 세월 동안 동네를 지켜온 ‘회현동 은행나무’를 통해 현재 우리의 삶을 되돌아보고 미래를 향한 생태 의식과 마음가짐을 점검하는 공공미술 프로젝트이다. 도시 고목이 당면한 현실과 지역적 의미에 공감하고, 노거수와 이웃이 됨으로써 모두가 조화롭게 공생하는 새로운 관계 맺기를 제시하였다. 앞으로 이곳이 지역의 관심과 가치를 전달하는 장소이자 천년을 넘어 은행나무의 전설이 살아 숨 쉬는 곳으로, 마음의 공동체를 이루며 나무와 주민이 서로를 바라보는 장소가 되길 기대한다.
청계풍경
Memorial Ground
인간 중심의 가치에서 출발한 청계의 정신이 담긴 풍경을 발견하여, 산업화의 풍경 내부에 인간에 의해 유기적으로 조직되어 동력을 만들던 청계 공구 거리의 내면의 역사에 주목한다. 이곳은 사람과 도시간 서로 지속적이고 긴밀한 상호성을 기반으로 점진적인 사회의 변화와 창작을 주도하였다. 우리는 청계 거리의 산업을 사람간의 협업으로 구축된 '개척의 땅'으로 정의하고자 한다. 산업의 거리를 상징하는 공공 작품은 과거와 현재, 존재의 유/무 사이에 멈춰선 사라지는 청계풍경 사이의 중간지이며, 시간속에 다져진 단단한 협업의 '땅'일 것이다. 작품이 된 터는 이곳을 지켜온 사람들의 자취를 남기는 기념의 장소로, 방문자에게는 청계 정신이 깃든 땅에 함께 서있는 의미있는 순간을 선사한다.
숨길
THE PATH OF
BREATHS
자연에서 심신을 정화하고 안정을 찾는 산책의 주요한 기능을 재현한 공간이다. 한낮 빛이 아른거리던 숲길을 걷는 평온한 순간을 수집하여 빛의 공간을 연출하였다. 신체의 안정을 도와주는 사운드 작품과 함께 빛의 숲길을 걸으며 바쁜 하루의 호흡을 가다듬고 온전히 자신에게 집중하는 시간을 제안한다.
It recreated major functions of a walk that enables people to purify their mind and body in nature and get comfort. It produced a space of light by collecting the relaxing moments of walking in the woods at midday with bright light shimmering through them. Walking in the woods of light along with a sound work that helps physical comfort, it is suggested that the visitors wholly concentrate on themselves, taking deep breaths away from the busy work of the day.
온기
THE WARMTH
‘널리 구제하다(홍제: 弘濟 )’라는 뜻을 가진 홍제천에서 사람중심의 정서회복을 기원하는 작품이다. 조선시대 환향녀 이야기에 비춰진 홍제천은 사회에서 억울하게 외면받던 여성들을 위한 치유의 장소였으며, 북한산에서 내려오는 가장 따뜻한 하천으로 인해 겨울에도 사람들이 모이는 인기있는 빨래터이자 만남과 교류의 장소로 구전된다. 과거에 이 장소가 상징하던 온화한 정서의 이야기에서 비롯해 따뜻한 온기를 담은 장소의 상징성은 빛의 향연으로 홍제 유연 공간 전체를 이루는 평온한 정서를 재현하였다.
It is a work wishing for emotional restoration centered around people at Hongjecheon – Hongje(弘濟) has the meaning of providing relief widely. Hongjecheon was a place of healing for women who were unreasonably ostracized in the society as can be seen in the story of hwanhyangnyeo, meaning women who returned home (from captivity in Qing), in the era of Joseon Dynasty, and as passed down orally, it is known as a popular place for washing clothes and a place of meetings and interchanges that gathered people even in winter times as it was the warmest stream that flew down from Bukhansan Mountain. The work created a calming atmosphere that fills the space of Hongje Yuyeon with a feast of lights along with the symbolism of the place that contains warmth that originates from the stories of warm emotions in the past.
홍제 마니(摩尼)차
HONGJE MANI WHEELS
‘마니’(摩尼)는 ‘소원’을 들어주는 ‘영롱하게 빛나는 보배로운 구슬’이다. 티베트에서는 마니를 원통의 바퀴로 만들어 손으로 돌리며 걷는 기도와 명상법에 사용한다. 홍제 유연 초입에 위치한 ‘인터렉티브 존’은 자연과 사람이 상호교류하는 마니차를 매개체로 아날로그적 교류 공간을 구성하였다. 홍제 마니차에는 빛에 비유하여 사람들의 삶에 소중한 순간들을 담은 1000개의 메세지, 나와 공간을 비춰내는 거울이 있다. 이곳에서 ‘마니’를 돌리며 사람들의 따뜻한 메세지 속에서 삶의 행복을 공유하며 손으로 교감하는 순간을 체험하며 하루의 마음을 정리하고 기원하는 정서적 안정을 경험한다.
Mani means “a precious bead that shines brightly” that is said to grant people’s wishes. In Tibet, mani is made into a cylindrical wheel and used for people to walk along the manis and turn them with their hands while they are praying and meditating. The “Interactive Zone” located around the entry of Hongje Yuyeon, forms an analogue space of interactions with the mani wheels as its medium that helps people and nature interact with each other. On the Hongje Mani Wheels, there are mirrors that reflect us and the space where we are in, containing 1,000 messages about precious moments in the lives of people. Here, people can turn around the manis and share the happiness in life through the warm messages of people and experience the moment of sharing their emotions, feeling them with their hands, as well as psychological comfort, unwinding and making wishes for themselves.
홍제유연 미래 생태계
THE FUTURE ECOLOGY OF HONGJE YUYEON
아이들의 상상력으로 그려진 홍제 유연의 미래상이다. 자연의 빛이 들어오지 않는 현재의 지하 환경에서도 강인한 생명력으로 진화하기 시작한 동식물들의 출몰을 상상하며 앞으로 도래할 이곳 홍제 유연의 미래 생태계 모습을 그려보았다. 작품은 인왕초등학교와 홍제초등학교의 학생들과 함께하는 참여프로그램으로 진행되어 홍제천 주변의 생태를 살펴보고 현재 홍제 유연 환경의 변화를 상상해 보는 시간을 가졌다.
It is a future image of Hongje Yuyeon created by the imaginations of children. Imagining the appearances of flora and fauna that will start to evolve with their strong vitality even in the current underground environment with no natural light coming in, they drew the look of the future ecology of this place, Hongje Yuyeon. The work is created through an engagement program that engaged students from Inwang Elementary School and Hongje Elementary School, where they had time to look around the ecology around Hongjecheon and to imagine the possible changes to the current environment of Hongje Yuyeon.
자하談(담) 프로젝트
JAHADAM PROJECT
신영동 삼거리 육교는 신영동, 평창동, 부암동 등을 연결하며, 바로 옆에는 세검정초등학교가 자리 잡고 있어 주로 세검정초등학교 학생들이 등하교시 건너는 장소다. 이 육교는 ｢서울은 미술관｣ 아트페이빙 프로젝트를 통해 작가들과 지역 주민들의 참여로 그들의 새로운 예술적 상상과 이야기를 담은 공공미술 작품 ‘자하담 프로젝트’로 다시 태어났다. 자하담의 자하는 이곳의 옛 명칭인 ‘자줏빛 노을’을 의미하며, 자하담의 자줏빛 노을이 아름다운 이 땅에 이야기를 담아낸다는 의미를 담고 있다. 옛 부터 산과 개울에 둘러 쌓인 세검정 지역만의 지리적 특성과 다양한 문화 예술인이 모여 사는 지역 커뮤니티의 특수성을 연계하여 육교의 낡은 길은 지역에 떠도는 다채로운 생각과 상상이 남겨지는 이야기 장이다. 자하담 프로젝트는 지역의 풍성한 자연, 지역 주민들의 삶과 예술을 새로운 기술을 통해 전달한다. 증강현실(AR)을 활용한 ‘자하신화’, 신소재 축광석을 사용한 ‘자하담돌’, QR 플랫폼을 통한 ‘자하교감’으로 구성되어 있다.
The Jahadam Project was done on a three-way pedestrian overpass located at Shinyoung-Dong, Seoul, Korea. This Project was to develop this pedestrian overpass as a public art structure using a multidisciplinary approach reflecting local cultural and historical context, the bridge’s spatial characteristics and visitor analysis to make it a meaningful experience. The Jahadam project transformed the oldest overpass structure into a new cultural space, combining the resident’s imagination and ideas arising from the surrounding environment where nature and city life coexist.
The Jahadam project consists of three programs: Jaha-stone, Jaha-myth and Jaha-communion. The area surrounding Shinyoung-Dong is well known as a beautiful place surrounded by mountains, rocks and flowing water. The design team worked with a local artist to depict “Jaha-stone” on the floor of the overpass with a combination of natural and luminescent stones that glow with stored sunlight at night, giving the space a mysterious new look at night.
